In 1928, Max Le Verrier designed after a live model, the famous CLARTÉ, a woman with a
illuminated ball – the main piece of his artistic work.
In fact, he needed three different models:
one for the head, one for the upper part of the body and one for the legs. For this last part he asked an African-American dancer who played in the shows of Josephine BAKER.
The work picks up the theme of the female nude in a very aesthetic way and at the same time symbolize the time of the Art Deco with its typical hairstyle and simplicity in their line.
