Pamono Anglepoise 1209 Floor Lamp by Herbert Terry, 1940s

An exceptionally early model 1209 Anglepoise floor lamp, manufactured by Herbert Terry & Sons, Redditch, England. This 1940s example has a high base on casters. It has new wiring with a black braided cord. It has a Bakelite socket with a switch. Adjustable height. The black lacquered shade, with a few small, inconspicuous dents, is movable in all directions. Marked. Lowest position and normal use: 140cm. Highest position and normal use: 220cm. The angle of the arms themselves is, of course, still infinitely adjustable. Base diameter: 48cm. Depth in normal use: 60cm.
