Origin: Denmark
Good condition commensurate with age and use

Magnificent table lamp by Danish firm Hanne Stentøj, 1960s. It is made of glazed stoneware with a geometric design in various blue and earth tones, and with an abstract pattern, both embossed and painted. It fits within the stylistic framework of Scandinavian Modern design.
On a turquoise base color, it features a navy blue multi-lobed figure with a series of circles arranged in a square inside. The sides feature circular patterns in darker blue. The lamp’s neck is raised and narrow, with some protrusions that add dynamism to the figure. It comes with a fully functional socket and wiring. It lacks a shade or lampshade; it includes a Scandinavian installation system.
Stentøj, or stoneware in English, is a high-fired ceramic (between 1100 and 1300 degrees), resistant and durable, and also very important within Danish ceramic tradition. It is known for its durability and distinctive aesthetic. It is composed of a mixture of clay, quartz, and feldspar, which after firing becomes hard and porous, and may or may not be glazed.
