New Pamono Omega Lamp attributed to Vico Magistretti for Artemide, Italy, 1967

The ‘Omega’ pendant lamps, designed by the renowned Vico Magistretti and manufactured by Artemide in Italy in 1964, are a stunning example of mid-century modern lighting design. These stylish and large-sized lamps are part of an expansive family of lighting that began with the Omega hanging lamp in 1964.

The Omega pendant lamps feature a frame made of nickel-plated metal, complemented by elegant white opaline glass shades and a unique glass ball diffuser. The opaline glass shades ensure that these lamps provide a beautifully atmospheric light when illuminated, adding a touch of sophistication to any interior. Each lamp is in very good original condition, maintaining the integrity and quality of the original design. The Clinio collection also includes a wall lamp introduced in 1967, which utilizes the same distinctive diffuser design first seen in the Omega pendant lamp of 1964, highlighting the popularity and success of the original concept. This wall-mounted lamp features an arm attached to a wall plate, both crafted from matte nickel-plated brass, and is distinguished by its special frosted glass diffuser. This diffuser is created by removing two horizontal slices from a smoked glass sphere that encases an inner opaline globe, producing a soft, unique, and pleasing light effect. This piece is also in very good condition.

Vico Magistretti (1920–2006) was an influential Italian designer and architect, celebrated for his innovative contributions to modern furniture and lighting design. His work combined simplicity with creativity, often using everyday materials in new ways. A recipient of multiple Compasso d’Oro awards, Magistretti’s designs remain highly regarded and continue to influence contemporary design worldwide. This lamp is checked in our own atelier, cleaned and is also suitable for use in the USA.
