The show with the mouse is one of the most successful children’s shows on German television. At the core of the programme are so-called laugh and non-fiction stories, which, in addition to short cartoons, also include a knowledge film, for example about the production or functioning of an everyday object. It has been broadcast on Sunday mornings since 1971.
Between the individual laugh and factual stories, there are around 30-second animated films in 2D animation technology with the mouse created in 1971, the elephant (1975), which was added later, and the duck (1987). None of the characters speak, instead sound effects and music form the backdrop for the films, in which the mouse and his friends interact and solve problems. The clicking sound of the mouse’s eyes is produced with castanets.
The mouse is orange. In order to solve the problems she is confronted with in the films, she can, for example, lengthen her legs as she likes, jump ropes with her torn-out tail or fetch tools or an alarm clock from her belly.
Dimensions:
Height 22.8″ / 58cm,
Width 11.0″ / 28cm,
