Set of two vintage ceramic lamps in olive green – in the style of Hustadt or Dümler & Breiden
A stylish pair of mid-century lamps with high decorative value. West German Studio Ceramics / West German Pottery. Technically completely overhauled. These two striking table lamps most likely originate from West German ceramic production in the 1960s/70s – stylistically belonging to the Fat Lava era. The bases are made of glazed ceramic in shimmering olive green with lighter accents and typical sculptural wave shapes – also known as pagoda shapes. The craftsmanship is reminiscent of designs by Hustadt Lamps or Dümler & Breiden Ceramics from this period – both known for their expressive mid-century lamps. However, the two bases could also be of English origin. The manufacturer Royal Doulton is known for similar shapes with its Sheerlite lamp.
Large lamp: Originally made as a lamp
Total height with shade: 94 cm, height of base + socket: 55 cm, diameter of base: 18 cm
Cable routing: internal through a threaded rod – see picture.
Electrical system: newly installed with an olive-green textile cable, European plug, toggle switch, and a copper-colored E27 socket. Professionally installed and tested by an electrician. Condition: excellent.
Smaller lamp:
Converted from a ceramic candlestick.
Total height with shade: 77 cm. Height of base + socket: 36 cm, diameter of base: 14 cm, cable routing: external via an outlet socket under the socket – see picture. Fittings: as with the large lamp, also professionally assembled. Condition: excellent.
Light & Mood:
The cylindrical shades are covered with high-quality cotton canvas. The Japanese-inspired floral pattern in muted tones creates a particularly atmospheric effect as soon as the lamp is switched on: Lighter pattern elements begin to glow, while darker sections create depth and contrast – ideal for cozy, decorative lighting in the living room or bedroom.
Large shade: Ø 35 x H 45 cm
Small shade: Ø 30 x H 38.5 cm
