This wonderful lamp, which was designed by the Danish designer Poul Henningsen back in 1958, convinces with its elegant aesthetics and functionality. Although it originated in the 1950s, it continues to seduce and inspire with its characteristic design, which harmoniously combines both style and class, making it a favorite in many modern homes and interiors.
The lamp has an oval, sculptural design, built up of several layers of shades that ensure glare-free light distribution. The stylish purity of the lamp’s design makes it an ideal interior detail in modern rooms.
The shades have different shapes and sizes, of which six are facing downwards and two upwards. The shades are designed to cast soft shadows and provide symmetrical, uniform light distribution that is glare-free and diffused. All this is enhanced by the polished top surfaces and matte underside of the slats. When the lamp is switched on, the entire structure lights up, spreading a soft, pleasant light in the room.
The shades are made of die-cast aluminium and are painted in a white colour, with a matt inside and a glossy outside. The durable construction guarantees long-term use without compromising on style or function.
PH Snöboll was first shown together with Poul Henningsen’s iconic PH 5 lamp at the Museum of Fine Arts in 1958. This was a major event in the design world, as these two fantastic creations truly captured the essence of modern aesthetics with their elegant lines and functional form. In fact, it was not until 1983 that Snöboll began to be produced for the market, which meant that many enthusiasts and design lovers had to wait over two decades to have the opportunity to buy and enjoy this unique lamp. During this time, design trends and tastes evolved, but Snöboll remained a symbol of timeless beauty and functionality in lighting design.
