Stiil Stoneware was established in January 1972 at Tranum/Denmark by ceramists Mette Løkken Stiil and Niels Stiil.
Their workshop was known for their unique stoneware work, including lamps and applied arts with a distinctive brutalist-inspired design. Many of their works are decorated with abstract ornaments and have a raw, handmade aesthetic that reflects the style of the time.
There are also ceramics, especially lamps, with both the Stiil signature and the Axella stamp. The company Axella Stoneware ApS on Amalienborgvej in Nørresundby was owned by Aksel Larsen from 1970 to 1987.
This is a very rare and beautiful lamp.
It is 36 cm in height and 13 x 13 cm in length/width, and it weighs a whopping 2875 grams.
