A beautifully preserved example from the Optima lighting series designed by Hans Due for Fog & Mørup, Denmark. First launched in October 1972 in white, the series expanded to include yellow and brown versions a year later. While the original models came in 20, 50, and 60 cm diameters, this brown 35 cm edition was introduced toward the end of the 1970s and is now a rare find.

About the Designer
Hans Due (b. 1941, Nyboder, Copenhagen) is a Danish graphic designer, photographer, and painter. He studied under prominent Danish artists and graduated from the Graphic Arts Institute of Denmark in 1965. In 1974, he founded Due Design AS, contributing significantly to Danish lighting design through collaborations with Fog & Mørup. His works, including the Optima, Phister, and Formel lamp series, are celebrated for their clean, modern aesthetic. Since 2005, Due has focused on painting, with numerous exhibitions of his “New Realism” works.
